It’s no secret that we are annual attendees to the York Cycle Rally 2023 and we always have an absolute blast. Not only is it a great opportunity for us to be out in the sun for the weekend, but it also gives us chance to help show people who we are and what we do. How we rescue bikes from Household Recycling Centres throughout North Yorkshire, refurbish them and give them a new forever home.
We always have a lot going on when we get to set up at the York Cycle Rally and this year was absolutely no different! We had it all, from discounts on kids bikes, we had a session where you could come and get your bikes fixed up and even a bargain table with a mountain of items for sale for only £1! We were blessed with the weather and even ended up camping out ourselves there this year which made a really welcome change!
When we saw The Bistro Guy‘s catering truck at the event, we had to take some time and go and see some of their incredible pizzas pizzas being made in a wood burning pizza oven! We even got one ourselves and shared it round the team. It was really cool seeing them all being cooked on the grounds in front of you and the sourdough was delicious too! They can cater for all different kinds of events, like weddings, corporate events or one like the York Cycle Rally 2023.
York Cycle Rally 2023 was an absolute pleasure an honour to be a part of and we were blown away by the support. We couldn’t help realise that there is so much opportunity for our second hand parts, which has got our thinking caps on behind the scenes and thinking how we could make that available online for everyone, not just people attending events we’re attending. It was brilliant to see so many people coming together at the Knavesmire for the weekend and celebrate all things cycling!
A big massive thank you to all who attended York Cycle Rally 2023, we are already looking forward to next year! We will definitely think about camping out again, we had such a great time and it was so handy being there in the morning to get ready and set up too! The team had a little BBQ there and a few jars to celebrate what was an amazing weekend!
We loved having the marquee up this year, it made a massive difference to our pitch and gave us some great space to offer repairs and some much needed shelter from the blazing sun! We could do events like this every weekend, we have so much fun and love being able to help people being able to fix up their bikes with our second-hand bike parts or even get an upgrade or their child a new ride. We are always on the lookout for events to attend so if you have one coming up, please get in touch! We have lots of different things we can do and have all our own equipment too!
