School Work In York

Clifton Green
St Lawrences
Heworth Primary

Fun interactive learning with kids, teaching them all about bike safety and the basic repairs. This is especially favourable to some of the students who are more hands on, it’s a change from classroom work and it’s fun! The last school visit we did was at Clifton Green primary, but due to Covid-19 we had to postpone. The bikes hat we worked on at the schools got to be kept as a little bonus for the kids. If you want to see more, read our blog.¬†

Helping our NHS

At the beginning of 2020, pre Covid-19. It was decided that this year we were going to do something bigger and more charitable than ever. We decided to give away 200 bikes to charities and other organisations, throughout the year. After getting through 38 bikes and getting them out to places like SHY (Charity) and other local charitable organizations.

To everyone’s shock we were hit with Covid-19, everything changed around us. Fortunately our business was deemed essential and we continued to stay open throughout. This was the perfect opportunity to give the remaining 162 bikes away to NHS workers who might need them. The footage was shown on BBC Look North. See below.

We’ve been doing great things in around the community since we opened in 2011. We’ve raised money for St Leonards Hospice, The special care baby unit, donated kids bikes to schools and even helped out members of the public with acts of kindness. York Skyride

York Cycling Festival.
a great day out for the whole family

What a day out this really is! Rowntree’s park gets busy with lots of cycling related action. What used to be the Sky ride is now a festival of cycling. There are plenty of stalls to look at, food stalls to get a bite to eat and some showmen to really make something epic. Buy yourself a bike from one of Recycles stalls or get some accessories. We can also throw up a stand for some basic repairs.

York Cycle Rally

Yorks biggest cycling meet up

One place all fellow cyclists can meet up and show off some of their products for sale. Auctions and activates for all to take part in. Coffee, cakes and good times especially when the weather is hot and the skies are clear! People come from all over with their camping gear to take part. Lots of Bob Jackson frames and Schwalbe tyres around. See a couple of photos from 2018.
