We are working in partnership with The Recycle Project CIC on their ‘100 Bike Giveaway Campaign‘ and part of this campaign was to launch it all with a ‘Big Bike Event’ and it was BIG! Big Bike Event 2023 saw an awesome day of fun, kids were laughing, the smell of the BBQ cooking is always one to be rivalled and the visitors and workshop attendants all had a wicked time learning more about their bikes.
We had three lads down for the Big Bike Event 2023 and it was all hands on deck! We had a tent in The Recycle Project car park with 6 bike stands in there. This was ready for our workshops that we were running throughout the day. It was great fun getting to take some pictures with the Snappy crocodile event try out an electric bike that looked like a little dirt bike.
We are predominantly known for our recycled bikes and repairs but we also can provide quality brand new items at affordable prices. Baskets, mud guards, helmets, chain oil and bike pumps are just a few accessories or perishables that we offer and they were flying out of stock at Big Bike Event 2023. We are always happy to help you find out what you need and spend the time making sure what you get is right for you.

We had donated a family of 4 bikes and some kids bikes to the tombola and we were blown away by the amount of prizes that The Recycle Project CIC had managed to secure a massive amount of prizes for the public to take a chance at winning. We even had a go and managed to bag ourselves a few little goodies. It was a really good day and the fact that there was YO1 Radio down for the day with their broadcasting van having a blast and sharing the highlights from the day like Snappy and their croc mascot helping The Recycle Project to hand over 20 bikes to the kids who attended on the day!
The Big Bike Event is definitely become a secure spot on our annual calendar of events. Alongside the York Cycle Rally and the Clifton Green School summer fair this year’s calendar has been stacked and we’re on the hunt for more. If you have an event coming up this year and would like an advocate of the cycling community present then we are what you need!
