The 100 bike giveaway is the product of a collaboration between the host, The Recycle Project CIC and two partners, us and our friends over at YO1 Radio. This campaign is funded by The National Lottery Community fund and will be the biggest, most impactful campaign for The Recycle Project to date.
The campaign aims to donate 100 bikes to vulnerable adults and children throughout York with the support of various organisations and charities. 40 bikes will go to vulnerable adults and 60 bikes to children across our city.
The Big Bike Event will launch the campaign giving a physical location to the project and an action-packed day of competitions, giveaways and activities. YO1 radio will be there for the day, broadcasting live about the days’ goings on, the results of the competitions and the donating of some of the bikes to the recipients.
Not all the bikes will be given away on the Big Bike Event, this is because the campaign will be run over 6 months and providing workshops to adults. So those bikes we can get ready for the day, will be donated. There will be a BBQ, Tombola, Bouncy Castle and more on the day! We are going to have a stand there and run a free bike maintenance workshop, highlighting some basic ways you can look after your bike at home.
As part of this campaign there have been 4 bikes secured to give away to a family. All you have to do to enter is like, share and comment on the post (which is linked below) and that’s it! There is over £1000’s worth of bikes to be given away with this one and what a way to start this campaign!
